Judith Glaus Judith Glaus was born in Zurich, Switzerland,
in 1954.
She studied ceramics in Faenza, Italy in 1974 and sculpture at the 'Ecole
supérieure des Arts visuels' and the 'Akademie voor Beeldende Kunst
(AKI) in Enschede, Holland (1978 - 1982).
On finishing her studies she returned to Zurich for a short period. In
1984 she moved to Amsterdam where she still lives and works.
Initially her work in Amsterdam focussed on drawing and painting. Her
first exhibition of paintings took place in 1986, in Zurich. Exhibitions
in Zwitserland, Holland, Japan The Czech Repulic and Italy followed.

Her style, which can be characterised as expressionist,
features various materials and canvasses.
The paintings can be described as a reflection of the soul. They reveal
the vulnerability of mankind. The sensitivity is onderlined by subtle
humour.
The mystical power of all Judith Glaus' work is demonstrated by the simplicity
of form and material in her sculptures.
